short answer

Best-route checklist is now live

Follow the Episode 2 Fire Control setup, keep Anders/Williams/Mitchell alive through Episode 5, spare the real crew at scanner/finale checks, then finish Young’s Humanity First and Eisele’s Humanitarian route. This is source-backed guide data pending our own hands-on verification.

spoiler modes

Four-level spoiler-safe framework

The site is spoiler-safe by default. Route facts stay generic until verified and intentionally shown at the right spoiler level.

Blind First Run

Explore before confirming objectives; route-specific details stay hidden.

Use this for setup, broad mechanics, and verification status only.

Nudge Mode

This page can flag that a decision may matter without naming the outcome.

Useful when you want non-specific warnings without route consequences.

Route Mode

Exact route choices appear only after verification.

Use this for reproduced route steps once chapter and scene context is proven.

Full Spoiler Mode

Full consequences remain locked until verified and intentionally spoiler-gated.

Death, ending, hidden-path, and recovery specifics require explicit spoiler context.

short route

What actually matters for Save Everyone

Can everyone survive?

All main surviving crew can reach the finale; Carter and Simms are reported as scripted deaths.

Destructoid says Carter and Simms cannot be saved from their eventual scripted outcomes, though earlier premature deaths/failures can still happen.

Highest-risk chain

Episode 2 Fire Control + Episode 5 Under Pressure.

Disable Landing Computer, restore Fire Control, then choose Anders in Under Pressure so Anders and Mitchell both survive.

Best-ending traits

Young → The Hero; Eisele → The Humanitarian.

Supportive/sympathetic dialogue and messages matter throughout the run.

Final check

Young chooses Humanity First; Eisele ends the cycle.

This is the reported best-ending route after escaping with the crew intact.

assumptions

How to read this route before our own replay

Route basis

New game route with third-party source-backed steps

Follow the route from Episode 2 onward; do not assume late-game recovery can fix early trait/system mistakes.

Verification level

Guide data live; hands-on verification pending

The page now publishes useful route steps from external walkthroughs while keeping a clear caution label.

Spoiler mode

Full route notes are spoilers

Stay spoiler-safe for first-run prep; use the route tables only when you intentionally want survival requirements.

Survival conditions

Carter and Simms are reported scripted losses; protect the rest of Cycle 13.

The all-survivor achievement route is reported around the remaining crew, not a literal Carter/Simms rescue.

episode route

Episode-by-episode survival checkpoints

These are concise route checkpoints pulled from third-party walkthrough reports and rewritten for our guide structure.

Episode 1: Little Star

Pass the exterior QTE when Simms loses her footing, then survive the chase sequence.

Keep Carter and Simms alive through the opening exterior sequence, then survive Carter’s chase/stealth escape from Simms. Collectible cleanup is concentrated in Crew Quarters and Medical before the route accelerates.

Episode 2: Best Laid Plans

Dismiss Mitchell’s distrust / choose to trust the recruitment process.

Two early decisions shape later survival: Stafford’s response to Mitchell’s distrust of Anders, and which system Young disables at the reactor. Eisele also starts building Humanitarian requirements here.

Episode 3: The Sample

Sneak past Williams as Cernan without being caught.

Cernan’s stealth section, Stafford’s crash survival, Williams’ scan clue, and Carter’s Utility Strap warning are the important reported route checks.

Episode 4: Dragnet

Get past Williams as Cooper.

The best-route reports focus on surviving Williams as Cooper, refusing the firearm as Eisele, and clearing Young’s Drawbridge/Fight checks.

Episode 5: Mr. Williams

Help Anders drug/sedate Williams.

This is the largest mid-game survival gate. Help Anders sedate Williams, keep Anders and Mitchell alive in Under Pressure, and choose Eisele as Stafford’s backup.

Episode 6: Hostile Takeover

Do not shoot Williams.

Do not shoot Williams, identify the real Eisele at the scanner, and choose Save Our Souls / SOS rather than warning-only messaging for the best-route line.

Episode 7: Revelation

When the scanner shows two signatures, take the right path toward the stalactite cave.

The Search Party fork and late stealth encounters determine whether the group returns to Bridge Ops intact. Young’s Loyal trait work continues here.

Episode 8: Come True

With Young’s Loyal trait high enough, unlock The Hero and choose Humanity First.

Final route checks include Young’s Humanity First wish, keeping Williams with the crew, avoiding fake Mitchell, saving Stafford, letting the real Mitchell in, and finishing Eisele’s Humanitarian post-credit decision.

destinies

Character Destiny setup for the best ending

Young and Eisele are the critical end-state checks; Stafford, Cooper, and Cernan also have route achievements and flavor outcomes.

Eisele — The Humanitarian

Build Sympathetic, avoid Rational framing.

Reported beats include concern for Simms, validating Eisele’s concern in Mystery, refusing the firearm, volunteering/backup actions, ordering Williams to follow, helping Stafford, and the final expose/end-cycle decision.

Young — The Hero

Build Loyal, avoid Serious isolation.

Reported beats include joking in O Death, pleading with Stafford, supporting the crew in Making the Call / Holdout / Why You Started, then choosing Humanity First.

Stafford — The Father

Build Supportive, avoid Resolute hardline.

Reported beats include dismissing Mitchell’s distrust, checking on Williams, defending Anders, and being receptive when Young pleads.

Cooper — The Rogue

Build Playful, avoid Professional rigidity.

Reported to unlock quickly if Cooper jokes when available and helps Anders in Suspicions.

Cernan — The Philosopher

Build Philosophical, avoid Focused-only responses.

Reported route emphasizes philosophical conversations, especially with Mitchell and Cooper.
